The event kicking off the third annual Keighley Business Awards took place at Keighley Campus Leeds City College. Philip Smith, chairman of the awards organising committee and Keighley town centre manager, said: “Compared to the same time last year a lot more sponsors have come forward.”
“A lot of the businesses that took part last time are showing an interest in taking part again this year.”
“We’re grateful to Leeds City College for allowing us to put on the launch here and to Victoria Hall which will let us stage the awards celebration night there on June 12.”
Keighley firm Rotherwood Recruitment has signed on to be an associate sponsor, prepared to provide a longer term commitment to the competition.
Patrick Illingworth, head of recruitment and development at Rotherwood Recruitment, said: “These have been austere times and it’s good to see businesses being recognised for the hard work they do.”
“As a recruitment company we’ve been established in Keighley since 1976, and we’re woven into the fabric of the Keighley business community.”
The closing date for entries is March 31.
