The Sixth Annual Keighley & Airedale Business Awards 2018 is almost here

The sixth annual Keighley & Airedale Business Awards 2018 will be presented to high performing businesses of all shapes and sizes on Friday June 29th.

In what is described as the biggest night for businesses in the area, from Crosshills to Shipley, hardwork and creativity will be rewarded in what has been the toughest judging process in recent years.

Organisers and sponsors have carefully judged ten categories with one of the winners to be confirmed as Overall Business of the Year.

Sleeping bag and outdoor clothing manufacturer Snugpak was the big winner last year, taking home three awards including the big one.

The awards honour businesses ranging from manufacturing to the food and drinks trade.

This year in particular has seen a wide variety of businesses entering from many different sectors.

Howard Martin, Co-Chair of the Business Awards, said:

“The awards are organised by businesses, and those who help businesses, to broadcast success from across Airedale. We are intent on promoting the wealth of talent in the business community.”

Keighley Councillor Abid Hussain, during his time as Lord Mayor of Bradford, was so impressed with what he saw at the 2017 awards that he invited the successful businesses, sponsors and organisers to a reception at City Hall.

TV presenter Harry Gration will once again host the proceedings at Keighley’s Victoria Hall, which will be packed following the highest ever entry and a record number of ticket sales/attendees.

The event has always been well attended but this year has been a total sell-out.

Keighley & Airedale Business Awards 2018 is sponsored by both local business and organisations including Keighley Business Club, Snugpak, Keighley Training Consortium, Cosurica, Keighley College, Rotherwood Recruitment, AWB Charlesworth, Airedale Enterprise Services, The Alternative Board, Blacks Solicitors, Keighley Town Council, Cavendish Business Centre, Bradford Council, Airedale Shopping Centre and ad:venture.

Steve Burles, Co-Chair, said:

“It’s testament to the level of business being done in the Aire Valley at the moment. Everyone I have spoken to has a positive outlook for this year and years ahead. It’s also good to see businesses in Leeds also taking an interest in the awards.

“Half of our sponsors are new this year and others have repeated their sponsorship for which we are grateful. Both Bradford Council and Keighley Town Council also continue their support.”
